Icons have big impact in web design and development nowadays. Not only they are important for web designers, but they are important for bloggers too. We frequently use icons on our websites because of their ability to carry the message more efficiently than text alone in most situations. What more if the icons were designed so much with love, it’s a bonus to us. So today, I represent 6 stunning icon sets I found throughout the Internet.

1. Web Application Icons Set by WebAppers.

One Of The 25 Outstanding Wordpress Designs

While moderating a comment in the dashboard today, I notice one new incoming link on the right side. The link came from Six Revisions. I thought it must be something related to my Wordpress theme releases but it’s not. He was writing about 25 Outstanding Wordpress Designs.

Honestly, I’m shocked but happy at the same time. I feel honored. I would have never expected my site would be featured in this kind of inspirational list. Thank you so much for the recognition!

Virb: Social Community

Filed in Featured Websites | Published on 8:15 pm | 5 Comments | 485 views

I recently signed up for an account at Virb. For those who didn’t know what Virb is, according to Mashable, Virb is generally known as the designer’s MySpace. Sounds cool. So I give it a try and the outcome is really good. I love the simple-yet-nice user interface they have. For example, take a look at the dashboard:

Look! Look! Reeeeally my type!

Actually this is the type of social networking I would consider to join. It is what we called creative social networking rather than other social networking websites like MySpace, Hi5, and Tagged. It gives opportunity for designers to learn from each other, share with each other and even help each other in our own expertise. I used to be part of Artician and Creative Stem but they are quite ‘heavy’ or ‘crowded’. Virb is rather simple. It’s just nice. You can still customize the style to your own creativity though.

Oh my God! They’re awesome!

Nevertheless, to me, Virb is not only for designers. It could be for everyone. If you’re interested in joining but not a designer, you still can do so. After all, the registration is open to everyone. Try it. It’s worth it. :)
