A Visit To Pengkalan Balak, Malacca
Filed in Life Logs . Pictures | Published on 10:01 pm | 30 comments so far | 112 viewsLast weekend (15th & 16th March 2008), my coursemates and I went to Pengkalan Balak, Melaka, for completing our Management group assignments. We gathered at the foyer of our faculty early in the morning, around 7.30 AM for registration and preparation before we leave. As for the committee members, we have to gather earlier than everyone else for preparation. We were there at 7.00 AM.

We off to Pengkalan Balak on two FPSK buses.
It was a long, long journey and here, I summarized what we went through the whole weekend in Pengkalan Balak. Be prepared for the longest post ever at Pelangi Petang.
Day 1
We arrived later than we expected because we were lost in our way. It’s quite in the remote area so quite hard to find the place.

Activity 1: A Visit to Pusat Penetasan Penyu
The first place we’ve visited upon arrival was Pusat Penetasan Penyu. The buses can’t go through the pathway because it was too narrow for a bus. So we walked there. Hell tired. You can’t tell. To make it worse, I wore high-heels. Dang!

Cute little turtle. Although the size is moderate, but the officer told us this turtle is still in his/her baby stage. Even the gender can’t yet be determined.

Some of my coursemates. Konon-konon je.

Wah… Seronoknyer dier! From left: Iwa, Nad, and Yatie. They are all my housemates.

Bergambar kat pintu masuk Pusat Penetasan Penyu sebelum balik.
Activity 2: Telematch
After we finished with the turtles, we checked in and had our lunch, rest a little bit, and prepare for the next activity - the telematch. Two friends of mine and I was assigned under activities and programs in this trip so it was quite hectic for us. We got helped by all other hardworking committees to ensure the activities go on smoothly. We have five games - pecah belon, cari gula-gula dalam tepung, isi air dalam botol, belon berair and tarik tali. Yeah, I know, banyak game ‘kanak-kanak’ but it doesn’t matter as long as we had fun.

Bergambar sebelum aktiviti bermula. Yang pegang cap merah dan buat peace tu ialah Sanoveyani. A sweet Sabahan.

Participants lining up into their respective groups.

Ganbatte yo, Ina-san!

Chaiiyokk, Sweet Yee!!

Go Baber! Go!! The most spirited youth. Patut dapat anugerah Peserta Terbaik.

Model baldi terlatih. LOLs. Iwa dengan Yatie.

Yang ni kalau tak silap game baling belon berair. Horror. Lepas habis game tu bermula la Perang Dunia Ketiga - bom air!

Tarik tali. Game yang melibatkan group Baber yang paling tough and happening. Dapat masuk final lagi. Semangat Baber.

Ni group AJK. Aku tak masuk. Hehe.

This is Iwa, AJK responsible for keselamatan dan kebajikan. Time tarik tali khidmatnya banyak diperlukan sebab ramai orang cedera lepas tu. Belakang Iwa tu namanya Ain. Yang nampak lidah je tu pulak rasanya err… Sya kot…
After telematch is free activity. Some of us walked and played at the beach some stayed in their rooms, preparing and practicing for group presentation during the night. I walked along the beach with Iwa and took some photos.

Berjalan-jalan di tepian pantai. Fuh!

Buat istana pasir pulak. From left: Olivia, Iwa, Suat Hong, Evie and Febriana.

Pui San beli layang-layang kat gerai tepi pantai. Iwa sibuk-sibuk nak main.

Nasier - the most spirited youth (male version), Iwa, and Sarhan.
Activity 3: BBQ and Presentation
At night, we have BBQ Nite which was held at the same time with group presentations. It was so much fun. Eating while presenting the presentation. I didn’t get the chance to watch the whole presentation since I was busy helping Yatie, Nad, and others frying the chickens, hot dogs, fishes, etc. Yatie and Nad are the Food Committees.

From left: Yatie, Iwa and Nad.
That’s the end of Day 1.
Day 2
Activity 4: Management Discussion
We had our discussion session in the morning. It started at 8.30 AM. The discussion was unusual. We had to create our own CD cover, songs, imaginary gifts from the heart, and we played game as well. The session mostly dealt with decision making and knowing yourselves - who you really are - and your friends. And we had so much fun.
After the discussion session is over, we still have some time before checking out so we walked along the beach and take photos again.

“I heart this place”

Checking out. From left: Zati, Sano, Iwa and Ina.
Activity 5: A Visit to Zoo Melaka
How cute. Like kindergarten kids, huh?

“I want to pee”

“You want me?”
I didn’t get to walk around the whole zoo area because of the heavy rain. After the zoo session we head back to our college. We arrived around 9.00 PM. Basically, that’s what we did during the trip and here, I got some extra photos.

The committees. From left: Sarhan (Peralatan), Iwa (Keselamatan), and Hijaz (Pengarah Program).

That’s the end of it. Thank you for reading. ![]()

Hi k.zana, I’m not sure lah sebab mungkin dah termasuk package kitorang…
comel iwa tu.
lalala~~
Nice, beach was OK to me.. BUT, please avoid a stall beside the “Pondok Polis” at pengkalan balak…There are local gangsters “lepak” / loitering there…Myself has been a victim and nearly got beaten up by them….The incident happened when i seek an honest appology from the stall owner since his waiter had accidently “shower” my son with a glass of nescafe….but instead i was harrased by the owner and the local “samseng”… Try to avoid that stall since there are a lot of other places to eat there with decent hospitality.
